camping at capitol reef

To make up for our last rainy camping experience we decided to head to Capitol Reef.

When we got there all of the campsites were taken so back into town we went. Brent did not want to put the tent up in an RV park so we decided a hotel it was. Turns out we picked a bad weekend because all of the hotels were booked. There are like 20 or 30 motels/hotels in the town and they were all booked. So we ended up going to get dinner...

It was very good and it you go to capitol reef you should definitely eat at Slacker's. As we were finishing our dinner I decided to try calling some of the hotels again to see if they had had any cancellations and I got a tip that this motel, 5 miles outside of town, down a road that I was pretty sure you would get raped or killed on, I was nervous to say the least. It was called The Flute Shop. And when we got there, there were only 3 rooms... Now I'm even more nervous...

And there were animals... it was crazy.

The rooms were cleanish, but old and smelly so we slept in our sleeping bags
on top of the beds just to be safe.

We got up the next day and went back to camp ground and got a spot and
ate some breakfast and watched the deer...

Then off we went on a walk...

We played some games...

We sat around and talked for a bit...

We went on another hike...

And it was bedtime and apparently its fun when you get to brush your teeth outside...

We woke up, ate breakfast, and had s'mores, cause we're on vacation and thats how we roll...

We packed up our stuff to head home and we went on one last hike...

Our camping trip didn't turn out exactly as we had planned but it was an experience
and we had so much fun together!
